Globo Gym....Athletes this is your year

One of the first things I wanted to get sorted to help me settle was my gym....I loved going to DL in Brissle (although much of my time was spent in the sauna, eating muffins after a workout or losing badly at Tennis). So I did some research and I found this AMAZING gym - it's exactly like Globo Gym from Zoolander....hilarious.

The classes are immense - hip hop and crunk (which involves getting really angry and crabbing your crotch lots) and spinning makes me roar - the instructor is full of tats and goes around the class giving you knuckle fives. But the best is Turbo Kick - it's kicking boxing to hip hop music, so I jump around trying to not look like a ballerina, whilst giving it some attitude. And the instructor refers to you as 'an Athlete' - seriously! At the end of the class he gives a motivational speech...my favourite by far was....'Athletes your health is a gift and you have celebrated this gift by coming here to this class. 2010 is your year and you can get those abs you always wanted' Absolutely brilliant. Bring on the DD's.

2 Starbucks day...keeps the doctor away

So...I've always been partial to a latte, skinny and tall and Starbucks is always dreamy. I've tried several Starbucks since being in Chi and it took me a while to realise I was paying over the odds for such a pleasure. I'd order a 'tall non-fat latte', pay, wait patiently at the counter and when two tall non-fat latte's were called as being ready and no one would collect them, I'd eventually ask if it was mine, they'd nod and I'd tootle off. Only after three times of this happening and two drinks appearing at the bar did I then realise that 'tall' was being mistaken for 'two' - because of my ropey British accent - so I'd been ordering double bubble each morning. I've now got it down to a fine art...I order ONE tall non-fat latte....a lady did ask me if I meant 'one - two tall non-fat latte's....'(?) errrr no. Lesson number 1 - learn to annunciate better (and lose the Bristolian accent).
